Criteria, indexes and levels of formed of design competence are presented in the article and the pedagogical terms of its forming are selected. The method of evaluation the level of design competence is described. The results of comparative researches of among future engineers-teachers of sewing profile are presented in control and experimental groups.

The paper considers the results of the experimental part of the dissertation research “Development of creative activity of student's in social and cultural university activities”. The author describes the technique of organization of the pedagogical experiment based on the method of control and experimental groups. When analyzing the dynamics of the studied process during the experimental work the indices of the time series were used. The reliability of the obtained data was tested using the K. Pearson’s method of mathematical statistics. The comparative analysis of the diagnostic slice level of development of creative activity of student's in social and cultural activities is given. Positive results of development of creative activity of student's in university confirm the validity of the hypotheses of the study.
The article is devoted to the problems of experiment in pedagogy and methodology. Its role in the educational process is highlighted. We consider the connection with the theoretical level of knowledge and prove that the purpose of experiment is not only to test the hypothesis, but also is a source and generator of the theory. The comparative analysis of pedagogical and methodical experiment is carried out. The article describes the problems in connection with which the experiment is used too little as a tool of scientific knowledge at the empirical level to improve the educational process. The author considers the experiment as a complex element of the empirical level of knowledge, arguing that its further development is important for the development of theory and practice in pedagogy and methodology. In this regard, each teacher must learn to conduct the experiment correctly. This would be the key to creating a theoretical base of pedagogical sciences, improving the quality of teaching.

This article was prepared in the context of discussing the evidence-based pedagogy problems and presents a main characteristics description of the particular pedagogical study’s empirical part. The content of the article reveals the conceptual foundations, the logic of empirical research, the goals of its stages with the designation of the empirical base, the methods used, the technology for constructing measuring instruments of the level of semiotic competence.
The article considers conducting of a pedagogical experiment to introduce "case" technologies into the educational process on the example of air navigation training. The conditions under which the training process based on the introduction of "case" – technologies is effective, the problems of their implementation are revealed, the approaches to the classification of cases are specified.
