The article is devoted to the issue of pedagogical speech of a teacher delivering a university lecture. The main criteria for assessing the quality of lectures from philological positions, the stages of preparation for the lecture, the main mistakes of young teachers in preparing for the lecture are considered. The author pays attention to the teacher’s speech peculiarities during delivering a lecture, and gives some methodological recommendations. Based on the study, the author concludes that the teacher must speak not only a philologically impeccable language, but also implement the communicative competences of the students.

The article is devoted to the problem of university lectures as one of the important forms of education in higher school organizations. The main criteria for assessing the quality of the lecture, lecture functions, an approximate list of requirements for the lecture are considered. Based on the study, the author concludes: the lecture as a form of education organization is today an important stage in the process of learning and the development of a future specialist.
Modern Russian scientific communication is largely determined by international standards and is a synthesis of the needs of society, the needs of the state, the influence of global trends and the initiatives of researchers themselves. The article examines how modern Russian scientific communication implements, on the one hand, domestic traditions, on the other – innovations due to the requirements of the world scientific community, which operates on the basis of openness and mutual exchange of scientific knowledge.
The authors of the article examined the functioning of the words «coronavirus / COVID-19» in the texts of printed mass media of Russian publications of different stylistic orientation and revealed the actualization of certain meanings (sem) in the analyzed words.
One of the possible options for teaching annotation as one of the methods of analytical and synthetic processing of information in the classroom in Russian as a foreign language is proposed. A system of language and speech tasks aimed at creating a secondary text of the scientific style of speech is presented.
