The article is devoted to the role of financial strategy for an enterprise and its successful development in the long term. The economic essence of financial strategy and its place in the strategic management of an enterprise have been studied. The relationship between financial strategy and other types of enterprise development strategies in conditions of rapidly changing environmental factors is shown. The purpose and objectives of forming a financial strategy are considered. The need for an effective financial strategy as the most important tool for strategic management of the financial activities of an enterprise is substantiated.
