The paper deals with the actual problem of general and special education – application of modern information technologies in the educational process. The author describes the purpose of multimedia technologies in teaching biology and geography to students with mental retardation.
The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the environmental education of schoolchildren with mental retardation, their mastering knowledge about the world, nature, its objects and phenomena, as well as mastering school material in general. The concept of “environmental education” is revealed, as well as the peculiarities of the formation of ecological culture among schoolchildren with intellectual deficiency. The article describes the tasks of environmental education, describes its stages, among which the formation of ecological culture plays an important role. The author reveals the methods and techniques of working with children, briefly reviewed such a form of work as a "tour", a detailed plan for its organization. In turn, the article deals with the fact that children’s mastering systematic and consistent knowledge about the surrounding world of nature, its objects and phenomena becomes an indispensable component of education, upbringing and socialization in society of children with mental retardation.
