The author reveals the methods and techniques of working with children, briefly reviewed such a form of work as a "tour", a detailed plan for its organization. In turn, the article deals with the fact that children’s mastering systematic and consistent knowledge about the surrounding world of nature, its objects and phenomena becomes an indispensable component of education, upbringing and socialization in society of children with mental retardation.
