This romantic image symbolizing a high-spiritual impulse of Russian intelligentsia to search of true sense of life is shown in the work of the modern writer in the terrifying degradation under the influence of the person who has become hardened in a condition of a bogoostavlennost, turned in "cattle" and "slave", the barbarian. Falling of the person, on belief of the writer, conducts also to a mutation of an animal and in general the natural world.
