Civic and patriotic education is a systematic and purposeful activity aimed at forming a high level of patriotic consciousness among students. This task has always been relevant for the state, educational institutions, classroom teachers and teachers. In this regard, the author of the article has developed a program of extracurricular activities based on the spiritual and moral heritage of A.S. Pushkin, which has the main purpose of fostering civic responsibility and patriotism among students.

Citizenship of the Russian Federation is a stable legal relationship between a person and the state, which is expressed in the totality of their mutual rights and obligations. The principles of citizenship of the Russian Federation are based on the Constitution of the country and the federal law "On Citizenship of the Russian Federation". They include the principles of equality, the inadmissibility of deprivation of citizenship or the right to change it, as well as the principle of dual citizenship.

The article discusses the main ways of forming patriotism and citizenship of young people, which can be through various institutions and practices, as well as the importance of using an activity approach to achieve these goals.
