Intercultural interaction is analyzed as an important part of intersocial communication in the context of globalization/ The author emphasizes the significance of worldviews in shaping the perception of reality in different cultures. Cultural and linguistic worldviews (illustrated by examples from Japan, India, China, European countries, and Africa) demonstrate how traditions, customs, language, and values determine behavior and communicative practices. The importance of intercultural competence as a key meta-competence of the 21st century is highlighted, proving that it is essential for overcoming communication barriers, fostering tolerance, respecting differences, and achieving successful interaction in a multicultural environment.
The article discusses the concept of foreign language communicative competence, which encompasses knowledge of foreign languages and the ability to apply them effectively in diverse communicative contexts, as well as the skills necessary to initiate and sustain communication. Furthermore, foreign language communicative competence involves interaction in a given foreign language, incorporating culturally specific norms of etiquette and communication. The paper examines the core components of this competence: linguistic (speech) competence, compensatory competence, and educational-cognitive (learning) competence.
