The article examines some aspects of the presentation of the topic «Improving the training of foreign military personnel using the microgroup method». An analysis of the dependencies of the formation of professionally important social and communicative qualities of a military specialist in the environment of educational and cognitive activity and the interaction of students in microgroups is carried out.
The article examines the concept of «auditory skills» and the methods of their formation in foreign military personnel when teaching Russian. It describes the auditive competence, which contributes to the development of professional foreign language communication of future specialists. Tasks are offered that allow foreign cadets and students to solve the problems of auditive competence.

The author pays attention to the concept of «professional communication», notes the inextricable connection with the speech training of students, and also focuses on the features of teaching dialogic and monologue speech.
The article deals with the problem of designing the course «Foreign Language (Russian)» at a military aviation university. The semantic content is proposed as a starting point for learning, and the goal is to develop the ability to express these semantic relations using all available language tools. Approaches to the formation of Russian speech among foreign military personnel at the initial stage of training are analyzed. The main attention is paid to the integrated use of topics, grammatical forms, syntactic constructions and speech skills to create a solid language base. The importance of including the material of the initial stage in the program of basic (advanced) training is emphasized, since it represents the most complex objects of assimilation and requires constant repetition and consolidation throughout the entire period of language learning.
