The article presents the research results of perceived control locus influence on the level of procrastination at a young age. The negative correlation between the level of internality and procrastination is revealed. That correlation indicates that external individuals are more likely than internal ones to postpone their affairs "for later".
This article describes in detail different approaches to understanding the phenomenon of responsibility in psychological research, considers the levels of responsibility development, types of responsibility (social and personal), identifies two options for accepting responsibility or locus of control (externality and internality). The author's understanding of the essence of responsibility as a quality of personality is formulated and the main psychological features of responsibility are highlighted.
The article presents a study of the level of subjective control of youth aged 17–30 years using a modification of the test of the USC «Locus of control» (LC) by Ksenofontova E.G. By opening each scale of the test, a psychological portrait of modern youth is presented. The results are considered in the dynamics of two age groups.

The relevance of the study is determined by the need to find ways to correct high personal anxiety in people with early maladaptive schemes. The aim of the work is to find a connection between the locus of control and the manifestation of early maladaptive schemes. A brief description of some early maladaptive schemes is given. The main theoretical aspects of the concept of the locus of control are considered. The data of our own empirical study on a sample of adults with different maladaptive schemes are presented, which reveal a correlation between the severity of early maladaptive schemes manifestation and the localization of the control locus. The result of studies aimed at examination the relationship between the locus of control and the level of manifestation of such early maladaptive schemes as "vulnerability", "failure", "social alienation" is presented.
