In the traditional culture of the Sakha people, women's jewelry occupies a special place. The names of the jewelry reflect the national and cultural characteristics of the environment and the life of native speakers. The semantic diversity in the nominations of jewelry is associated with the closeness of the people to nature (images of flowers, birds), with the symbolism embedded in the names, with a special technique for making jewelry.
New realia, phenomena, ideas and technologies that require nomination appear in a constantly changing world almost every day. The covid-19 pandemic has caused a flurry of neologisms in most languages, which has led to the emergence of a rich layer of new coronavirus vocabulary. The article provides its comparative analysis in German, English and Russian, carried out from the point of view of the ways of nominating new coronavirus concepts in these languages.
This article is related to the author's research in the area of regional onomastics, namely, the system of urbonyms. The author analyses a book by Tobolsk-based writer V. Sofronov for information on Tobolsk-related system of onyms. In particular, the statement on historical, cultural and linguistic significance of the material analyzed is substantiated. The analysis covers texts dealing with stories about various longstanding Tobolsk facilities. The author highlights onym types described in V. Sofronov's book, describes ways to create nominations of intercity facilities. Of interest is the opinion in the article on the need to consider these nominations in the context of regional identity, the coordinates of which are the onyms in question. The information contained in the article is undoubtedly novel because the text of V. Sofronov's book has never previously been the subject of a special scientific study.
