Formation of regional identity of teenagers and young people is regarded as one of the conditions of de-veloping territories of the Russian Federation. The article explains the role of local history as a resource for the formation of civic identity; it analyzes the structural components of regional identity: cognitive, emotion-al and evaluative (axiological), and behavioral. The authors discuss possibilities of additional educational programmes "Literature of the Vyatka region", "History of the Vyatka region", "The nature of the Vyatka re-gion", "The Art of the Vyatka region". The modified questionnaire is offered to determine the level of for-mation of students’ regional identity.

The article is devoted to the actual problem of regional identity formation. In modern science, regional and local identity are considered as an alternative to the unification of culture. The information was obtained with the help of Tolyatti residents’ public opinion poll about the image of the city on the Internet. The factors contributing to the formation of the regional identity of Togliatti population were identified. These include attractive photos of the city, its surroundings, information on the improvement of the city, the prospects for its development. The author makes analysis of the factors that negatively affect regional identity.

The lack of definite values in modern general education and, accordingly, educational strategies entails a problem: it is difficult to develop age-related resources for junior teenagers within the framework of educational strategies. The purpose of the study is to justify the conditions for the development of regional identity: knowledge about the city and a positive attitude towards it. The urban environment is considered as a space of meanings and implications, which are essential for education. It is shown that the age resources of junior teenagers in the course of the project are updated, cognitive resources and meta-subject competences are developed.
This article is related to the author's research in the area of regional onomastics, namely, the system of urbonyms. The author analyses a book by Tobolsk-based writer V. Sofronov for information on Tobolsk-related system of onyms. In particular, the statement on historical, cultural and linguistic significance of the material analyzed is substantiated. The analysis covers texts dealing with stories about various longstanding Tobolsk facilities. The author highlights onym types described in V. Sofronov's book, describes ways to create nominations of intercity facilities. Of interest is the opinion in the article on the need to consider these nominations in the context of regional identity, the coordinates of which are the onyms in question. The information contained in the article is undoubtedly novel because the text of V. Sofronov's book has never previously been the subject of a special scientific study.
