The article is devoted to the description and analysis of the goals, principles and conditions of teaching a foreign language to cadets of federal state government agency educational institutions of higher education. The article analyzes the conditions of study at a military university, the distribution of academic time by semester and type of training, the course of the exam, the importance of introductory testing to determine the level of preparedness and the formation of study groups, the question of the occupancy of study groups is raised. The author suggests ways of organizing optimal conditions for professionally oriented teaching of a foreign language.
