The paper is devoted to the topical problem of professional competence formation of the modern representative of the technical intelligentsia while mastering skills of public speech. The possibilities of studying linguistic disciplines in the transport university in mastering the various types of rhetorical skills: defend his point of view, joint activities, develop common solutions are described. The author examines the characteristics of work in the process of organizing learning activities in practical classes; independent work on final study and public performance. The conclusion to improve communicative competence as a component of professional competence is made.

This artic is devoted to the actual problem of ensuring the effectiveness of the learning process by changing the attitude to the training of both participants, the teacher and the student, using modern pedagogical technologies. It is proposed to use the technology of counter-efforts, which requires the engagement of the teacher and the student in the joint activities, to avoid the simplification of educational work and at the same time to form a creative approach to acquiring knowledge. The author emphasizes special importance of language disciplines in the formation of conscious, creative attitude to learning, which will then help in the study of physical, mathematical and technical disciplines. Special attention is paid to the role of the teacher in the organization of the educational process.
The article discusses practical tasks, the implementation of which within the discipline "Public and Scientific Speech" in the magistracy will teach future masters the ability to prepare and deliver a scientific report and a scientific and educational lecture. Attention is drawn to the importance of both theoretical and practical preparation of students for public scientific speech. It is proposed to form the appropriate competencies in the context of the implementation of practical tasks that are closest to real life.
