The article discusses a communicative approach to teaching English grammar in primary and secondary schools. In the course of the research, the following methods were used: study and analysis of methodological literature, generalization of experience of teaching English at school. The author theoretically proves the use of a communicative approach in teaching English grammar.
The article suggests using translation contests as an instrument for multicultural competence formation for international students. The article deals with the objectives of the contest, peculiarities of its organization, and gives analysis of its perspectives for further motivation of foreign students to study foreign languages and cultures.
In the modern world intercultural communication can take different forms. The article provides evidence of the prospects of such type of intercultural communication as intercultural artistic communication, carried out through the poetic translation of a poetic work, and gives a comparative analysis of some existing translations of A. Blok's poem «Scythians» into English, which confirms the conclusions drawn.
