This paper deals with the problem of using pictures in Aviation English course for teaching such aspect of professional communicative competence as speaking skills. The article contains brief characteristics of avi-ation language, gives a set of technologies for using pictures in different textbooks for pilots and control-lers. The publication also determines the criteria of picture selection and special aspects of image descrip-tion techniques in the situations of professional communication.

The research is determined by the need to find the way to develop intercultural professionally-oriented competence in technical universities and for students of aerospace specialties in particular. The purpose of the article is to study foreign text-books for technical universities and Aviation English textbooks for aviation specialists. The authors compare the content of the text-books and analyze the competences that the students can acquire while studying and fulfilling the assignments. The article summarizes the experience of using professionally-oriented text-books in foreign language classes with students of Aviation University. On the basis of the contextual approach and according to the principle of continual professional foreign language training, different text-books are developed at the department "Foreign Language for Aerospace Specialties" in Moscow Aviation Institute for bachelors, specialists, masters. Much attention is given to the study of English grammar in aviation context, and improving grammatical skills at all levels of education at the university is emphasized. Examples of aviation terminology and types of tasks are given in the article. The authors come to the conclusion that in conditions of multidisciplinary training in technical universities and possible prospects for professional mobility of future graduates, the language training in professional context provokes an ambiguous attitude. In connection with this, it is recommended to discuss the idea about creating a universal textbook for technical universities, which includes both an invariant general part and a variable one that reflects the particular specialization of the technical university. The theoretical significance of the article is that it shows stages in teaching English for specific purposes such as English for general technical subjects to Aviation English and then English for particular Aviation Specialty. The paper describes the essence of studying grammar in professional context. Practical significance is that it shows the effectiveness of developing professionally-directed text-books at the junction of linguistics and special subjects and their constant updating in accordance with technical innovations and the emergence of new technical terms.

The relevance of the present study is due to the need to improve the quality of professional training of modern specialists, including the military sphere. The result of the training should be the ability of the graduate to operate in situations of professional reality, to conduct professional activities in accordance with the requirements of the modern world community. The international civil aviation organization (ICAO) has put forward specific English language proficiency requirements in the field of aviation. However, the problem of insufficient proficiency of pilots in aviation English is still relevant. The article is devoted to the results of experimental work aimed at the development in cadets of the military University sufficient level of foreign language professional and communicative competence formation by means of integrated technology adapted to the conditions of training in the military aviation University. The aim of the article is to describe the experimental work on the implementation of integrated technology of teaching aviation English in a military University. The article reveals the structure of foreign language professional communicative competence criteria and levels of its formation assessment. The authors describe the stages of practical implementation process of integrated technology of aviation English learning, as well as the effectiveness of the following combination of pedagogical conditions of integrated technology adaptation to the conditions of the military institution: differentiation of training; suitability and motivation of students; availability of information and communication support; monitoring the students’ progress and gradation of knowledge levels. The analysis of our experiment results proves the effectiveness of the developed methodological model of teaching aviation English integrated technology adapted to the conditions of training in a military University. The objectivity and reliability of the experimental results are proved by methods of mathematical statistics.
