The article is devoted to the question of the human destiny. The author views 2 competitive antagonistic interpretations of the destiny. The special attention is given to the first in terms of history understanding (sensation) of the destiny – the tragic one, which formed in the Ancient culture (the destiny as a fate, inevi-tability). The author also describes 3 types of ego individualization according to the main destiny question of death.

The paper deals with the dependence of suicides on quality of life of one or another society. Dissatisfaction with quality of life defines self-destruction of personality. The author proposes to solve the problem with by using non-economic methods, which mean the improvement of welfare policy of a State.

Remarque’s novels in their relationship with the concept of “life.” The author analyzes the regular use of the word “life” in various contexts of novels, which leads to its symbolization and attempts to interpret the concept “life” from the point of the appraised connotations.

It is emphasized that the variation of the plot line of the novel, the formation and development of images is refracted through the artist's reflections on the word about God, about good and evil, about modernity, about real and mystical, about work.

The scenario of the disaster film, which reflects the causes that led to the disaster – the drying up and death of the flora and fauna of the Aral Sea, an environmental disaster. The measures taken by people to save the Aral Sea are reflected, such as: planting of plants, construction of a dam and others. It is told that there are other large bodies of water in the world that are beginning to repeat the sad fate of the Aral Sea, in particular, Lake Chad in Central Africa and Lake Salton Sea in the south of the US state of California. Tasks aimed at identifying the most significant issues of the disaster have been developed.
