The article reviews the opportunity of cadets’ patriotic education in military institute during their foreign languages studying. Peculiarity of the “Foreign Language” discipline makes it possible to use patriotic materials. Usage of education active forms allows studying foreign culture in comparison with native one, to form the ability of native culture representing in the act of international communication.

The article touches upon the actual problem of spiritual and moral education of children's personality, substantiates the role of children's fiction as a means of cognitive, aesthetic and moral education of a child.
