This article examines the theme of war in the works of writer and WWII veteran D.F. Snegin, using examples from his works "On the Distant Approaches," "The Parliamentarian Leaves the Reichstag," and others, as well as from the renowned contemporary Kazakh poet O.O. Suleimenov. In his work, D. Snegin demonstrates that a person's worth in war is measured not only by the completion of combat missions. There is another point of reference – their moral principles, which form the foundation of their character, and their physical drive. Olzhas Suleimenov wrote numerous poems dedicated to the theme of war, such as "Their Names Rustle Like Assault Flags," "Nameless Heights," "One War Ended with Another...," and others. D.F. Snegin and O.O. Suleimenov are writers of different generations, but the heroism and patriotism of their people are palpable in the pages of their great works.
