The article describes the features of the formation of quasi-spatial representations in children 6–7 years of age in normal, as well as with general underdevelopment of speech (IV level). The results of a speech therapy examination of the peculiarities of the formation of quasi-spatial representations in children 6–7 years old with general speech underdevelopment (IV level) are presented, recommendations for the formation of quasi-spatial representations in children 6–7 years old with general speech underdevelopment (IV level) are given.

This article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of speech therapy aimed at developing spatial representations in preschool children with delayed mental development (DMD). The analysis of the specific features of spatial perception in this category of children is presented, and effective techniques and correction methods are highlighted to optimize their learning and development process. The research shows that a systematic, comprehensive approach, incorporating speech therapy and play-based methods, significantly enhances the level of spatial representations in preschool children with DMD and promotes their overall speech and mental development.
The article describes the characteristics of the prerequisites for reading skills in children with general speech underdevelopment. The prerequisites include the formation of the processes of visual perception, visual attention, visual memory, the development of spatial representations, skills of phonetic analysis and synthesis, phonemic and phonetic aspects of children's speech. The mental and speech characteristics of children with general speech underdevelopment are described. The need for timely diagnosis of the level of formation of prerequisites for reading skills in preschoolers with general speech underdevelopment is being actualized.
