The article presents the educational work based on integration of moral and patriotic education, preventing harmful habits, and strengthening the willpower of young athletes to ensure their competitiveness on the international arena. The work summarizes the practical experience of a classteam in shaping the dominant life values for young athletes using the life experience of the famous athlete Karpov V.P. with his ups and downs as an example for the formation of dominant life values in young athletes.
