The article is connected with the statement that a person thinks with concepts to which he can easily choose words, thus he can competently write, act and understand. The idea of grasping the meanings of words conceptually is one of the new problems in the field of linguistics. The word and its meaning are combined into the main concept or idea symbolized by this word. The article describes the process of understanding in terms of pedagogy, psychology and physiology of the nervous system. The forms of perception and transmission of information are analyzed as ways to increase the level of conceptual understanding of words in a foreign language. The rationale and implementation of the conceptual understanding is illustrated by specific examples.

The article is devoted to the problem of conventionality in the communicative situation "adult-child". The author examines the main features of communication between an adult and a child, the rules and principles regulating the process of speech interaction and contributing to the formation of communicative competence of the addressee-child, as well as the mechanisms of conventional communication and the causes of communicative failures.
the article deals with such features of educational activities of foreign cadets as their socialization and adaptation to the socio-cultural conditions of a foreign country. Special attention is paid to the motivational side of cognitive activity and the impact of factors of social, personal and educational plans.
