In today's world where electronic devices have become an integral part of people's lives ordinary letters and sending postcards are considered outdated. Meanwhile, there are thousands of fans of such a hobby as postcrossing throughout the world, in various countries. This project is designed to be able to receive postcards from all over the world, to meet and communicate with new people, and, of course, for an exciting leisure.
The article touches upon the issue of forming communicative competence while teaching foreign languages. The author describes the opportunities of realizing cross-cultural communication in a foreign language classroom, putting a special emphasis on the significance of using socio-cultural materials of region in forming the cultural identity, patriotism and love for the Motherland.
In this article the ways of motivating students to learn a foreign language with the help of musical culture are discussed. Music helps to reduce the level of emotional tension while studying a foreign language language and culture in general. The article provides theoretical rationales for using the integrated type of lesson in practice and gives examples of techniques used by the author in the English language class.
The article reveals the importance of such social institution as theatre in the process of socialization, upbringing and education of young people. The comparison of the theatrical art perception of the Russian and Britain youth is presented.
The article is devoted to specifics of the Japanese mentality, reflected in verbal and nonverbal communication, which potential participants of intercultural communication need to know in order to achieve successful results. It also presents the results of the research into the level of knowledge about these specifics among potential participants of intercultural communication. The author provides an example of a lesson in English to familiarize students with the features of the Japanese mentality.
