The relevance of this work is determined by contradictions that accompany the process of digital transformation of the Russian educational system. First of all, these are contradictions between the growing requirements for the training of graduates who would be able to effectively solve professional problems in the digital economy and the unwillingness of educational institutions to meet them, between the didactic potential of modern information and communication technologies and its superficial use in the educational process, between the development levels of media competence by the main participants in pedagogical activity, their various values, goals and expectations, between the declared and real pace and quality of the computerization of the educational system, and others. The research purpose is to study the accumulated experience of digitalization of the Russian education (changing the essence and functionality of information and communication technologies in education, their role in achieving the current tasks facing the education system, specific features of their application for educational purposes) and designating axiological and target aspects as priority provisions for the development of future concepts of digital transformation of educational systems. The objectives of this study include an analysis of the theoretical and practical aspects of the application of information and communication technologies in education, conducting original diagnostic research, substantiating current tasks in the field of digitalization, taking into account the identified specific aspects of the use of digital media in the pedagogical process and modern challenges facing the educational system. The article examines such an approach to digital education as connectivism, its basic principles and tenets. The paper outlines some of the contradictions that exist in the field of digital transformation of education, as well as possible directions for their solution. The theoretical significance of the work lies in the fact that the concept of "digital media", their essential characteristics, functions and specific features of their use in education at the present stage are analyzed. The practical significance of the article lies in the fact that the ways of using digital media in the educational process identified by the author in 2007 are supplemented, and the importance of considering axiological and target components in the development of concepts for the digital transformation of education is indicated.
This study focuses on the analysis of the use of digital media in the German education system. It examines the modern methods and technologies used by German educators to enhance student motivation and improve the quality of learning. The article provides practical examples of the implementation of multimedia resources, online platforms, and mobile applications that promote the development of communicative skills within the framework of a plurilingual educational paradigm, taking into account the principles of neurodidactics. This article is intended for educators, methodologists, and researchers interested in current trends in foreign language teaching.
ART 261219
The article examines the problem of developing cultural literacy as a cognitive component of intercultural communicative competence among preservice foreign language teachers. The relevance of the study is determined by the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standards (FGOS 3++) and strategic documents in the field of education, which establish the development of intercultural dialogue and respect for cultural diversity as priority goals of higher education. The aim of the study is to identify key factors influencing the formation of students' cultural worldview and to assess the role of specialized academic courses in this process. The theoretical framework is based on intercultural competence models developed by M. Byram, A. Fantini, and D. Deardorff, which emphasize the cognitive component (savoirs/knowledge) as a foundation for developing reflective and behavioral skills. The empirical base of the study comprises the results of a survey of 80 fourth- and fifth-year students majoring in "Pedagogical Education (Foreign Languages)" at Petrozavodsk State University. The findings indicate the dominance of digital and entertainment channels as sources of cultural information: feature films and series (70%), social media (62.5%), and video platforms (37.5%). Notably, while only 12.5% of respondents identified university classes as a source of cultural information, 97.5% confirmed their positive impact on the development of cultural reflection. More than half of the respondents (55%) reported the insignificant role of family in shaping intercultural attitudes, which highlights the compensatory function of the academic environment. Personal intercultural experience was reported by 60% of participants, primarily in the form of short-term travel and online contacts. The theoretical significance of the study lies in clarifying the structure of cultural literacy as a dynamic cognitive component of intercultural communicative competence, transforming under the influence of digital media environments and institutional factors. The practical significance consists in developing methodological recommendations for integrating media content and structured intercultural dialogue into the educational process, which contributes to the effective development of students' universal competencies and can be applied in designing intercultural communication courses for various fields of study.
