The article is devoted to the analysis of new words which were published in the online version of the Cambridge Dictionary in 2021. New words or phrases appear in the language to denote objects or phenomena that appear in our lives as a result of socio-political changes, the development of science and technology, new living conditions. In 2021, a large number of new words and phrases appeared in the New Words Cambridge Online Dictionary blog. These lexical units reflect the topics that were popular and were in demand this year. The article analyzes the meanings of English neologisms, examples of their use, and also provides possible ways to translate these new words and expressions into Russian.
This article examines the history of the appearance of neologisms that entered the language during the development of the Max Factor brand. It contains the names of cosmetics that have entered the history of the beauty industry and our everyday speech.
The article focuses on the problem of translation and integration of neologisms into English-language media. There are a large number of neologisms in English-language media in connection with the rapid scientific, technological, cultural and economic development. The relevance of the research is based on the need to completely understand and perceive English-language sources. The aim of the research is to study peculiarities of translation of neologisms in English-language media, as well as to consider ways to translate neologisms. As a result of the research, the factors are to be taken into consideration when choosing a way to translate, as well as the following ways to translate neologisms have been identified: transcription, transliteration, descriptive translation, calquing and functional substitution.
The article deals with the most mobile part of the language system – vocabulary. The authors are interested in the ways of its renewal taking place in the modern Russian language. Sports vocabulary is chosen as an illustrative material. Based on theoretical research and practical observations, it is proved that the language of sports is becoming one of the most intensively developing lexical systems. A classification of sports vocabulary is proposed. The most productive lexical groups are singled out, due to which the words of sports topics are replenished. Anglicisms, neologisms, phraseological units and slang are described in detail.
