The article presents the results of a study of the ethnolinguistic features of the language in English and Russian travel guidebooks in the aspect of intercultural communication on the example of travel guide to Japan. They are interesting because of a large number of different geographic and ethnographic realities, as well as due to the exceptional identity of Japanese culture. The features of the way of life in Russian and English guidebooks are in the use of ethnographic realities that define the concepts of life, religion, culture. The natural habitat is represented in English and Russian guidebooks by various toponymic realities.
The article is devoted to the problem of translating regional culture-bound items, which primarily relate to untranslatable words, and, therefore, there are difficulties in choosing a suitable equivalent, which can be overcome, only if the translator has rich background knowledge and knowledge of various translation methods, such as explication and descriptive way.
The article attempts to conduct a brief review of translations and the first attempts to translate the Yakut heroic epic olonkho into Russian. The paper considers translations from 1844 to the present. Translation of the epic text into other languages is an extremely difficult, difficult and responsible work. It is only for specialists who know and understand all the nuances of the richness of the language into which the epic is translated, on the one hand, on the other hand, all the nuances of the olonkho language, which is the summit monument of the richness of the Yakut language. The main requirement of the translation is the maximum approximation of the translation language to the original language, approximation, and not adequate reproduction. A translation can be considered successful if it conveys a deep, individual understanding of the epic, preserves all its unique features, a special epic world with its original characters and their actions and accomplishments. In other words, the translation is intended to convey to the foreign language writer the inner spirit of the epos, all its national flavor and its historical and cultural significance.
The article examines the adequacy of the transmission of the Yakut word-reality "balagan" on the material of the novel N. E. Mordinova "Spring time". The undertaken analysis allowed us to determine the degree of coincidence of the linguistic picture of the world, on the one hand, presented by the author, and on the other, reconstructed by translators. As a result of the work, it was revealed that when translating the word "farce", referring to ethnographic realities, is transcription.
This article is devoted to the research of the formation and functioning processes of the "fashionable" vocabulary of the educational field in the Russian language of the 21st century. The study presents a thematic classification of lexical and phraseological units, which are characterized by widespread use in the contemporary Russian language and Russian speech. Special attention is given to the description of "fashionable" verbal signs, which are the latest borrowings from the American English.
