In this article, the author examines the ways and means to improve the effectiveness of physical education in a university on example of qualitative improvement of standing long jump results during physical training lessons. The fact, that university students do not always show good results when passing the standard tests of GTO physical culture and sports complex, proves the relevance and necessity of this work. The purpose of the study is to increase the students' standing long jump results in a relatively short time. The research tasks: to improve the standing long jump technique; selection and effective application of physical training means (speed-strength exercises) to increase the standing long jump results; the development of muscle groups that increase jumping results. The main method in the study of this problem is pedagogical experiment, as well as the method of statistical processing of quantitative research results. 40 third-year students took part in the experiment. The results of the experiment clearly showed that using this complex of speed-strength exercises made it possible, in a short period of time, to increase the students' standing long jump results significantly. Thus, the most effective speed-strength physical exercises are determined, which, in the author's opinion, can be effectively used in the process of physical training by students to improve their results in this kind of jumps. The study showed that systematic work to increase the speed and strength of students, the development of leg muscles during physical training lessons allows not only to improve qualitative results in standing long jump, but also to solve the educational and recreational tasks of physical culture effectively, that increase the overall physical condition of students. Achieving goals in this work allows us to reveal the potential capabilities of students in this type of physical exercise comprehensively. This work will help specialists who are performing physical training in higher education institutions to help students in improving their results in the specific form of the control test (standing long jump) while passing the GTO standards.

The relevance of the research is determined by the possibilities of personification and unification, optimization and modification the quality of solving the problems of education and professional training of physical culture teachers in the structure of actualization and application of sports tourism principles in the development of the productivity and creativity of the learner and teacher personality, in the personification of socialization and self-realization model in the system of optimal abilities distribution. The quality of solving the problems of studying sports tourism principles by future teachers of physical culture is determined by the quality of the developed and refined program and pedagogical support of the course "Principles of Tourism", the training module "Training Practice in Tourism", as well as by the timeliness of determining and solving the problems of optimizing pedagogical conditions for improving the quality of studying sports tourism principles by future teachers of physical culture. The aim of the work is to visualize the pedagogical conditions for improving the quality of studying the sports tourism principles by future physical culture teachers. Cultural, adaptive-humanistic, productive-acme-pedagogical, polysystemic approaches are defined in the structure of the system choice of the methodological basis for the research. The proposed constructs of pedagogical technologies and models for improving the quality of studying sports tourism principles by future physical training teachers clarify the possibilities of modern education, using the resources of which the personality of students and teacher pass through different levels-steps of reproductive-productive formation. The multidimensionality of the search for continuous education opportunities in solving problems of improving the quality of studying sports tourism principles by physical training teachers determines the specifics of pedagogical modeling use in detailing the possibilities for productive development of the personality, reveals the unity of theory and practice of teacher’s professional development, the practice oriented training of the individual in the structure of solving the problems of using the principles of sports tourism in the socialization of the individual, in the preparation of the individual for solving the task of self-actualization, self-realization and self-affirmation through sports tourism as the chosen kind of sport and the preferred direction of socialization. The principles of sport tourism make it possible to identify and clarify the possibilities of reproductive and productive formation of personality in the model of modern education and professional-labor relations.

The article deals with the influence of the psychological component on endurance and speed-power qualities of cadets in educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The authors bring out the range of problems in the training of cadets in educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and personnel of the internal affairs bodies, associated with athletics in general and with middle-distance races in particular. Some recommendations on this issue are given, which should be taken into account both by cadets of educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, personnel of internal affairs bodies, and by officers responsible for physical training.

The article is devoted to the study of the university first-year students’ motives and interests, identifying the level of their health self-evaluation, physical development and ability. The study of this issue will make it possible to choose the appropriate methods and ways of organizing the educational process by changing the attitude of students to physical training. It is assumed that we can achieve the effectiveness of physical training only taking into account the motives and interests of students as the driving force of human physical activity. To determine the structure of interests and needs of students, we conducted a survey at the beginning of the academic year. The study involved 217 students of Vyatka State University. Freshmen were asked to choose a priority type of physical activity, and answer the following questions: what personal goals would they like to achieve by physical training, and what could increase their motivation to physical training and sports during their studies at the university?
