In this article we consider the question of the organization of the educational process, based on integration of disciplines of humanitarian and natural-science cycle. Such combination allows to diversify the training of pupils for the formation of information competence. The article considers the issues of implementation of principles of integration and justified reasons the use on the lessons and outlined a number of topics under which this is possible.

The increase of the interdisciplinary subjects at higher educational institutions leads to the need of changing the requirements to graduates. The main objective of educational institution is essential change of training nature of specialists, owning skills of estimation of a situation as a whole, creative approach to decision search, result forecasting. Application of information and communication technologies help to increase quality of training. The educational and methodical complexes, including working programs of courses, sets of multimedia presentations of lecture occupations, laboratory works performed by students in the Internet, and methodical instructions for implementation of web projects help to form information competence of students while studying a number of disciplines. The author assesses the increase of students’ progress.

The paper explores the impact of students’ personal traits on the development of information competence in the course of vocational training at higher educational institution. The attention is drawn to the fact that the successful development of information competence promotes personal orientation, self-awareness, readiness to meet the new challenges facing a personality, attitude to information as a value commitment to life-long learning, focus on results. It is emphasized that the development of information competence of students can contribute to the study of elective modules (elective courses) using modern information technology.
The article discusses the example of the application of creative technologies in conducting training sessions on the subject "Geodesy". The author considers important the use of mind maps in the educational process. Methods of constructing mental maps allows you to improve learning of information useful to analyze the different tasks of professional activity, actively contributes to the development of structural thinking.
