The article is devoted to the disclosure of lexical units with the aim of creating verbal comic image and the necessity of their use. The author analyzes the value pack pragmatic tasks of lexical units on the example of works by O. Henry.

The researches’ actuality is determinated by the necessity of important old artworks’ reconsideration in a new epoch with the help of modern stylistic device and with the necessity to determine new scientific approaches in the context of social, political, cultural and moral aspects, to study works of art by Charles Dickens from the scientific point of view. The present research aims to prove the availability of the repetitions’ study, the examination of their stylistics peculiarities, their role in providing information, using as a means of language expressiveness in belletristic literature and efficient impact on potential readers. Works of art by Charles Dickens «Bleak House» and «The Pickwick papers» were the materials of investigation. In the research the repetitions’ species used by Charles Dickens for expressing his main ideas and for creating colorful images of his characters were determined.

It should be noted that synecdoche in Kyrgyz proverbs compared to metaphor and metonymy is used as an artistic means and is realized with various semantic methods. This kind of expanded synecdoche use in Kyrgyz proverbs is analyzed in this article.

. It is noted that metonymy like metophores is also actively used in Kyrgyz proverbs. Proverbs express the generalization of some phenomena in a very brief condensed form, observing the rules of the statement with an accurate transmission of the idea. Therefore, proverbs can reflect a great idea briefly, but weighty. In such cases the role of polysemantic words is great. Metonymy is one of special ways to create such polysemy.

The article proves the distinguishing of the lexical semantic group «Musical instruments» in modern English vocabulary and describes the structural and semantic features of the nameы of musical instrumentы.
