The Decree «On Approval of the Fundamentals of State Policy for the Preservation and Strengthening of Traditional Russian Spiritual and Moral Values» is a major conceptual weapon, the importance of which is difficult to overestimate.

This article is devoted to the problem of patriotic values of students of the Azov-Black Sea Engineering Institute. Attention is paid to the survey of students on this problem, the results of the survey on issues related to the concept of "patriotism" are indicated; with factors influencing patriotism; with patriotic projects implemented at the university; changes in patriotic education in the context of the Special Military Operation. Social and political institutions influencing the formation of civic-patriotic qualities are noted; participation of students in civic-patriotic events; awareness of students of their civic responsibilities.
