The article focuses on the problem of translation and integration of neologisms into English-language media. There are a large number of neologisms in English-language media in connection with the rapid scientific, technological, cultural and economic development. The relevance of the research is based on the need to completely understand and perceive English-language sources. The aim of the research is to study peculiarities of translation of neologisms in English-language media, as well as to consider ways to translate neologisms. As a result of the research, the factors are to be taken into consideration when choosing a way to translate, as well as the following ways to translate neologisms have been identified: transcription, transliteration, descriptive translation, calquing and functional substitution.
The article explores the problem of translating a feature film from Russian into English illustrating it by the example of the film ‘Major Grom: The Plague Doctor’. The author analyzes the linguistic and cultural features of the film content, which are of interest from the point of view of translation into English.
This article discusses ways of translating English newspaper headlines with lacunary units and lacuna as a translation problem. To develop a correct understanding and translation of English newspaper headlines, it is not enough to know the theory of translation. The article focuses on the fact that for the correct and effective translation of English newspaper headlines, it is necessary to highlight their features, as well as the difficulties that may arise in the translation process, in particular, lacunary units. Based on the conducted research, an analysis of typical methods for automatically translating gaps, their capabilities and limitations is provided.
The paper examines the phenomenon of English-language borrowings in the terminology of the beauty and fashion industry as a reflection of globalization processes. The linguistic mechanisms of loan adaptation, including transliteration, calculus, and semantic transformation, are analyzed. The influence of sociocultural factors on the introduction of anglicisms, as well as their role in the formation of professional idiolect, is considered. The results of sociolinguistic studies revealing differences in the perception of borrowings among different generations are highlighted.
