The article analyzes the ideas of Russian and foreign researchers regarding the role of the personality in a post-industrial type of society. The main contradictions, dangers and factors determining the functioning of a new type of personality in the modern world are revealed. The authors point out the need for the development of an eco-integrated, comprehensively developed personality striving for self-actualization.

The article presents the results of a sociological survey conducted by the authors. The concept of "sociocultural environment of childhood" is revealed. The authors determine the main motives of visiting the puppet theater by children, the main functions of the theater, the frequency of visits, the degree of initiative and the preferred repertoire.

The article presents the results of the sociological survey conducted by the authors on the problem of the relevance of theater as an institution of culture in the process of non-family socialization of children and adolescents. The authors revealed the most preferred by the younger generation genres and plots of performances, as well as basic motives of the audience visiting theatres.

The article analyzes the results of the sociological survey of Togliatti city residents in order to determine the level of their readiness for innovation. The authors give a list of the most significant instrumental values of two age categories respondents: from 18 to 35 years and from 36 years and older. They identify attitudes towards business and project activities.

In the article, from the theoretical and empirical points of view, the positions and conclusions based on the empirical material are examined, the structural and content components of the students' social adaptation are revealed, they form the integral conceptual scientific apparatus on the topic under study.
