The article is devoted to the development of cultural competence connected with the skills in the field of the native language. Presents the possibilities of development of this competence in the framework of disci-pline «Teaching business communication».

The author reveals the issues of effective organization of students independent work in conditions of reali-zation the basic educational programs of magistracy, where the role of independent work is greatly in-creased. The independent work of a student is seen not as self-education of the individual on his own, but as systematic, controlled by the teacher activity of a student.

In the article the questions of realization of competence-based approach to lingual-communicative training of students in higher education institution in system of the higher professional foreign-language education are considered, characteristics of competence-based approach in education and its opportunities to training in foreign languages are defined.

The author analyzes and summarizes moral-psychological category of “communicative competence” and “communicative competence of a teacher”, gives its own interpretation of the concept “communicative competence of a teacher”, lists the components and features of the communicative competence of a teacher.

The author considers the structure and content of the notion “the willingness of students to scientific and research activity”, describing its main structural components. The author examines the problem of preparedness for future bachelors professional training for scientific and research activities through the stages of formation of research skills.
