The paper describes the results of empirical study of relationship between family type and image of family among preschool children. The authors test the hypothesis on the difference image of the family in children from complete and incomplete families on a sample of 20 older preschoolers from kindergarten groups, with an equal number of each type families. The results of the research, and the use of statistical Mann-Whitney test showed a partial confirmation of the hypothesis.

In article the image motive of a swing in Zakhar Prilepin's novel "Monastery" is analyzed. The author points to diversity of this image in the novel, designates his communication with heritage of the Russian literature. The motive of a swing in the novel directs "Monastery" at reflections that the person is in searches of the truth, and he constantly has to make the choice between the good and evil, at the same time situation him in the world can't remain invariable.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the colour-naming words “silver” and “gold”. The author researches symbolic meanings of these colours in the early stories by American writer John Updike, as well as the peculiarities of silver and gold colours using for creating associative- subjective and objective images of the surrounding world. The means of each colour expression links, contexts of usage, as well as the role of colour motives in describing the appearance of heroes, objects and phenomena are studied. Moreover, their role for creating imagery of the actions, states, environment of narrative world in the writer's stories is also explored.
