The article deals with the conditions of system transformation of authorities in Togliatti in the context of all-union reforms and change of public formations. There are marked some features of state administration’s stage and rapid transfer to the city self-administration. Also there are illustrated the results of long-term cooperation between local authorities and enterprises and institutions, that let to avoid huge social cataclysms over the last years of soviet authorities and initial period of transfer to market relations.

The article reveals the specificity of collectivization and dispossession in the Stavropol district of the Middle Volga region. The author distinguishes three stages in the campaign, characterizes each of them, gives statistics of collectivization. Shows the ambiguous attitude of the peasants to the policy of collectivization. Analyzes the evolution of the process for deprivation of rights.

Article discloses heroism of the Soviet women in days of the Great Patriotic War on education and protection of children in rear regions of the country. Motherhood was considered as important social and economic function of the woman. Confidence of soldiers at the front in protection of children provided peace of mind being at war and at the same time, cemented unity of the front and back.

The article is devoted to the development of architectural features of young industrial cities in the Soviet period (the example of Togliatti, Kuibyshev region). The author singles out the historical preconditions for forming the appearance of a young city on the Volga, reveals the assessments of contemporaries. A special place in the article is devoted to the work of construction organizations engaged in the construction of the housing stock of the city.

The article traces the origin and development of bodies of territorial public self-government in the city of Togliatti and their status in the system of local self-government. He considers the process of formation, the problems entrusted to their competence and interaction with official authorities on the basis of archival data.

The article reviews migratory processes and changes that took place in Togliatti, since the late 1960s, during the period of a mass influx of specialists from all over the Soviet Union for construction the Volzhsky automobile plant and to work in urban industrial enterprises, until the mid – 2010s, when the project “The Fourth Birth of Togliatti” is gradually beginning.

The article focuses on the role of schools in shaping a new way of life after the October revolution in the Stavropol district of Samara province. The author based on the analysis of archival sources, identifies major areas of work of educational institutions in the development of Soviet culture in the agricultural district.

In this article, the authors attempted to analyze the composition of the employees of the Samara corporate organization of the nobility in the second half of the XIX – early XX century. The analysis is carried out on the property, position, age, educational and class criteria.

The article is devoted to the study of the history of Stavropol – on – Volga in the beginning of XX century. Special attention is paid to the analysis of revolutionary movements during the revolution of 1905 – 1907 and the Russian revolution of 1917. Shows the struggle of various social and political forces and the process of establishing Soviet power. The specificity of the development of the revolution in the Stavropol district.

The article analyzes the problems of formation of identity of youth in the urban environment. The attitude of young people to the city is seen as the result of social construction of the image of the city. The formation of youth identity in relation to the city is influenced by many factors. Great importance is the «imaginary community» – the original construct, which is the basis of a correlation identity themselves with a certain social integrity. The article analyzes the results of sociological research, held in Togliatti, on the study of the urban environment as a factor of identity of the youth.

The article examines the historical period of the formation of territorial-industrial complex, formation and development of the basic branches of the economic structure of the economy of Togliatti in the second half of the twentieth century. The regularities of the formation of a unique territorial-industrial complex in the Volga region and the periods of formation of separate industrial enterprises.
