The article provides an analysis of observations focused on the development of meaningful reading skills in the foreign language 6th grade classroom. In the process of student teaching it was found that the foreign language education at this stage does not realize the full potential of teaching meaningful reading skills to achieve both foreign language efficiency as well as generic outcomes.

The article presents the results of research on the possibility and feasibility of using digital technologies in teaching English grammar. The author has found that the use of digital technologies makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of teaching foreign language grammar at all four main stages of working on grammatical material. Currently, a significant amount of digital resources has been created for both language learners and teachers to improve the level of students’ motivation and independence, and to facilitate the planning of classes and monitoring of students’ academic achievements for the teacher. Modern digital educational resources can be used not only for teaching various aspects of the language, but also for all types of speech activities, both in the classroom environment and in distance learning, as well as for independent work and work under direct supervision by the teacher. In addition, digital technologies successfully compensate for the limited language environment and the lack of speech practice while learning a foreign language, which, undoubtedly, improves the quality of learning and the level of language proficiency.
Role play as a method of increasing motivation of younger schoolchildren to study a foreign language
the main purpose of teaching English in primary school is creating a positive natural motivation to learn it. In primary school age, the formation of the ability to communicate in a foreign language is associated not so much with the development of grammatical, lexical and phonetic structures, but with the Commission of practical, substantive actions and expression of emotions, which are accompanied by adequate statements in English. At the heart of teaching children oral communication in a foreign language in primary school is a game.
The article touches upon the issue of forming communicative competence while working with authentic texts. The author analyzes the process of forming communicative competence of schoolchildren, paying special attention to the possibility of using adapted authentic texts.
