The author analyses the main works of the outstanding Russian scholar N. P. Mikhalskaya, devoted to the reception of Russia in English literature. Prof. Mikhalskaya applies historical method to British-Russian literary relations and defines the major periods in shaping and development of the hetero-image. The paper is focused on the structure of the image of Russia, its dependence on socio-cultural, political conditions, mechanisms of literary relations, etc.

The paper deals with the problem of the explanation of the process of regional elections to the organs of legislative authority in the context of social psychology. The role of the factors, which determine the attitude of voters toward electoral campaign, is examined: control of election campaign, personal special features and behavior of candidates, mechanisms of installations mformation, ideas of voters, cultural context, cognitive processes. The author proposes methods and means to improve the mechanism of selective election of candidates and overcoming of stereotypes.
The article deals with the study of the phenomenon of stereotypes, their origin, types, specific properties, their role in social and individual life. Stereotypes in the context of intercultural communication are also considered, some examples of stable ideas about Russia taken from interviews with foreign citizens are given.The main methods used in the study are the method of oral questioning, or group conversation, and the written method of directed associative experiment.

The article characterizes the paremiological picture of the world as a specific linguistic formation structured in accordance with culturally determined meanings. Paremia as a tool for modeling the language picture of the world are considered from the position of identifying the culturally conditioned component of paremiological meanings and cognitive mechanisms of formation of the most important cultural stereotypes in their correlative relationship with certain value dominants of the Russian linguistic culture. The basic value, the representation of which characterizes the research material, is the value of "Faith".

This article deals with the study of the characteristic features of the mental verbs within the frame method in the English language. The author of the article makes an attempt to investigate the semantic features of mental verbs of the English language. The basis of the functional-semantic field of mental activity verbs is the frame "Mental", which means the various aspects of the actualization of the general concept in the mental activity process. The aim of the research is to identify obligatory and non-obligatory components in the structure of the frame "Mental". On the basis of the analysis, the author comes to the conclusion that the frame method is universal, as it allows us to identify conceptual and lexical-semantic information.
