Development of critical thinking is one of the most important challenges facing digital school mentors. The versatility of the objects studied and the processes of reality makes psychologists and teachers find new means and tools for the intellectual development of the individual. The purpose of the article is to study the potential of cognitive modelling activities in 3D graphics environments for the formation of critical thinking as an important indicator of academic progress. The revealed conditions under which the transformation of three-dimensional images contributes to the development of basic personality traits allow us to speak of a significant didactic potential of modeling for the development of critical thinking.

The article discusses the main advantages of introducing digital technologies into the economy, analyzes the regulatory documents designed to support the development of the digital economy of the Russian Federation. Proposals have been formulated for the development of digitalization, taking into account the interests of participants in the hospitality industry.

The article analyzes the position of the Russian Federation in the international ranking in terms of indicators of digitalization of the economy. The national program «Digital Economy» is considered as a key instrument of state financing of the digitalization process. As a result of the conducted research, the authors conclude that the implementation of the Program is associated with a number of financial, economic, organizational and managerial problems, which does not yet allow the Russian Federation to approach the world leaders of digital transformation.

The article reveals topical issues related to the concept of sustainable development of urban areas, which is embedded in the essence and structure of the "smart city". The authors investigated theoretical aspects and some practically achieved results concerning the implementation of the “smart city” concept in Russia. The authors believe that the concept of a “smart city” is being successfully implemented both in the capital of Russia and in individual cities of the country. An important goal of this process is the implementation of the national program "Digital Economy" in the framework of ensuring sustainable development of society. The concept of a “smart city” is better adapted to solving everyday life problems in the urban environment.

In the context of the implementation of the national project "Digital Economy", there has recently been more and more activity in Russia in the implementation of the digital ruble. The digital ruble is supposed to become a new additional form of the national currency. It will be circulated together with cash and non-cash rubles. However, digital currency will not crowd out other forms of money's existence. It will have the same properties as the usual forms of money, and will be an addition to them. Under this condition, the digital currency has its pros and cons, which must be gradually addressed. In the long term, the digital ruble will help Russia become more independent in the field of payment systems.
