The article discusses the concept of speech ability and its formation in normal and pathological conditions. The pedagogical characteristics of children with general speech underdevelopment of senior preschool age with general speech underdevelopment are given.
This article discusses the current issue of attention development in preschool children with mental retardation. Based on the study of individual author's studies, the features of attention in preschoolers with ZPR are identified. The socialization of a preschool child is of the greatest interest in connection with the active development of social relations, active mastery of various forms of behavior. At preschool age, the child discovers the world of human relations. He feels a strong desire to get involved in adult life, to actively participate in it, which, of course, is not available to him. In addition, no less strongly he strives for independence. From this contradiction, a role-playing game is born – an independent activity of children that models the life of adults.

This article discusses the topic of speech disorders of preschool children, the causes of their occurrence and selected speech games for the formation of the vocabulary of preschoolers.
