One of the major problems of the formed Soviet state during the Russian revolution of 1917-1922 is creation of the "new person". The strategic task was to involve in construction of new socialist society as the bigger number of the citizens devoted to the ideas of socialism as possible. The most serious rate became on youth as on the most active part of society. The purpose of the article is to present mechanisms for formation of the socialist personality. Process of impact of the socialist ideas to youth consciousness is studied. The conclusion about dual character of new pedagogics during the postrevolutionary period is drawn.

The Bolshevist concept of socialism implied a controversy between, on the one part, an urge to capture and democratize the culture and, on the other part, to "flush" the bearers of Russian culture, such as noblemen and bourgeoisie, with a view to build a new society. The foundation of the cultural revolution intended to solve the industrialization problems was formed with low general culture, low-mindedness of the popular majority (focus on the interests of the marginal population) and, at the same time, invincible belief that outstanding achievements justify the immense price of the watershed period's reforms.

In article memoirs of white generals M.K. Diterikhs, G.M. Semenov, D.L. Horvat and V.M. Molchanovare analyzed. On their basis the reasons which exerted the greatest impact on defeat of the white movement are considered. The conclusion about not a readiness of socio-political programs and strong influence of the personality with her inner world on defeat of white is drawn.
