In the rapidly changing conditions of both the educational and work processes, independent learning skills are more a necessity than a desirable requirement for its participants. The relevance of the problem under consideration is determined by specific requirements associated with English language teaching at a particular non-linguistic university where the students are supposed to have a high level of language proficiency and the academic load implies a large amount of independent work during vocabulary acquisition. Moreover, a growing trend towards shift to online learning calls for building students' autonomy skills. Therefore, the article aims at description of development conditions of learner autonomy to promote English vocabulary acquisition in non-linguistic students. The study was carried out from the perspective of constructivism learning theory which holds that knowledge is constructed by human upon foundation of previous experience and in an interaction with other people. Furthermore, the basis of the lexical approach is used which puts emphasis not on a large amount of exercises aiming at a complete vocabulary acquisition, but on the practice spread over time. The analysis of the academic literature made it possible for the author to identify the basic components of learner autonomy geared to expansion of students' English vocabulary – giving students control over their learning, use of student-centered approach, mastering vocabulary learning strategies and self-reflection skills, building peer-assessment skills, use of collaborative learning, raising motivation, teacher's facilitative style. The discussion of each component is accompanied by hands-on recommendations. The theoretical significance of the research lies in the fact that the seven identified components make up the model of formation of learner autonomy that fosters revisiting teacher-student relationships and empowering them with freedom of choice and more responsibility for their learning. The practical significance of this article lies in the possibility of conducting effective work with foreign language vocabulary by means of learner autonomy and tailoring its components to the learning goals and objectives of language courses.
The article deals with the theoretical aspects of the emotional valuation vocabulary and presents experimental work on the formation of the emotional valuation vocabulary in children of upper preschool age with a general underdevelopment of speech (II level), consisting of the study of emotional valuation vocabulary in children of upper preschool age with a general underdevelopment of speech (II level), based on which the proposed corrective work with the use of games-dramatization for children of upper preschool age with a general underdevelopment of speech (II level).
The article deals with the problems of studying medical terminology in the lessons of the native Russian language for students of a medical college. Medical terminology is one of the specific layers of vocabulary, which, due to the peculiarities of the structural-semantic, derivational and stylistic nature, differs from commonly used words and, thus, occupies a special place in the lexical system of the Russian language. The article proves the need to create an educational and methodological apparatus for the terminological training of medical students, describes the possibility of expanding the range of terms studied.
The article reveals the scientific and methodological aspects of the formation of speech and lexical and grammatical skills in preschool children with general speech underdevelopment. General speech underdevelopment is a collective term for children whose common feature is a violation of all components of the speech system (grammatical structure of speech, sound pronunciation, vocabulary and coherent speech) with preserved hearing and intelligence, a detailed study of children with general speech underdevelopment will help to properly organize speech therapy in inclusive education. This is the relevance of this study.
The article discusses the names of the stages of the wedding ceremony of the Russian old-timer dialect of Yakutia from the standpoint of linguoculturology. In this study, we turned to the wedding ceremony, since it covers almost all aspects of life, not only for an individual, but also for several tribal groups. Using the method of continuous sampling, material was selected from the dictionaries of Russian old-timer dialects of Yakutia by M. F. Druzhinina, which was systematized, is divided into thematic and lexico-semantic groups. It is the traditional wedding ceremony that is characterized by a powerful terminological apparatus, reflecting not only the order, but also, to a certain extent, the value system of the people.
