Article sources and the maintenance of a method a case-study reveal. Opportunities of its use in teaching culture study in medical school are offered. Results of application of this method when forming mental abili-ties and creative activity are estimated.

The article describes the use of methods of case-method (case study), one of the active teaching methods in the practice of vocational education. The use of descriptions of real situations in training involves the formation of the graduates are not only subject knowledge, but also the development of competence in ac-cordance with the requirements of the modern labor market.
