The article presents the results of the experiment. It characterizes the ability of preschool children with speech pathology to produce narrative and descriptive stories. The author reveals specific types of errors that children make. It is noted that such errors indicate the inferiority of the structural-semantic component of utterances. The skills of preschool children to build logical and informative stories are estimated.

The article deals with the peculiarities of interpersonal interaction of children having speech pathology with their peers. We identified three models of interaction. The first model is characterized as normative. The second and third models are considered as non-normative. They are associated with manifestations of excessive compliance or aggression. The article notes that the formation of compliant and aggressive interaction with peers occurs under the influence of speech pathology, when the social and communicative development of the child is significantly complicated.

The ability to formulate a thought and express it in speech is an important characteristic of the personality. Coherent speech begins to form in the preschool age, but there are some peculiarities of narrative utterance in case of general underdevelopment of speech.

The author of the article proposes diagnostic tools, the use of which makes it possible to determine the features and development level of skills to produce stories with elements of creativity among preschoolers with speech pathology. The technology of using diagnostic materials in the practice of a speech therapist is described. It is reported about the research, during which the abilities of children to build original texts were studied. The ability of preschool children with a general underdevelopment of speech to solve speech and creative tasks is analyzed.

The author of the article reports on the results of a research aimed at studying the semantic aspect of speech of preschool children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The results showed that children with ASD do not understand some oral instructions, so they cannot perform the necessary actions. Preschoolers cannot give information based on the picture plot. Speech production of these children is limited by the use of isolated words and word-combinations. They are not able to construct logical and coherent messages.
