The paper discusses one of the problems of connected with formation of correct and timely speech development among preschool children. The authors analyze the characteristics of phonemic awareness of preschool children; reveal its role in the formation of writing skills; disclose components of phonemic perception and conditions for its proper formation. Diagnostic block can be used to determine the level of phonemic perception among preschoolers. The authors developed and tested the system of games and exercises that can be useful to teachers for the development of phonemic awareness of preschool children.
the article discusses the skills, components of speech readiness of children entering first grade, and also provides a list of errors resulting from not of development of selected skills. Recommendations for the identification of violations of oral speech, its prevention and improvement.

The article presents the technology of correctional work for the development of phonemic hearing in preschoolers with speech pathology. Three directions of correctional work are highlighted. The author notes the specificity of teaching children to pronounce sounds correctly. She proposes some kinds of activities to improve phonemic perception, as well as phonemic analysis and synthesis. The article presents exercises of different types and describes the specifics of their doing by preschoolers with speech pathology.

The article discusses the formation of prerequisites for phonemic perception in speech ontogenesis, and clarifies the concepts of “phonemic hearing” and “phonemic perception”. The authors examine the relationship between the unformed prerequisites of phonemic perception and the mechanisms of erased dysarthria. They describe a method for diagnosing the development level of prerequisites for phonemic perception in 4–5 years old children with erased dysarthria, and interpret the results of practical research. The speech therapy work on the formation of phonemic perception prerequisites in 4–5 years old children with erased dysarthria, based on the results of practical research, is also presented here.
