The relevance of this work is determined by the need to implement the principle of continuity in education, not only in the transition school-University, but also in the study of individual mathematical disciplines. This ensures the establishment of strong inter-disciplines relations and is one of the most important components in the formation of the future University graduate competences, as it contributes to the wide application of knowledge in various fields. This issue is examined on the example of studying the questions of second-order curves orthogonality within the discipline "Ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations". Students first broach the topic “Second-order curves” starting from grade 7, and they are constantly referring to it throughout the school mathematics course. Then students expand their knowledge about the properties of these curves and study their canonical equations within the University program. Meanwhile, students comprehend the full picture only after they study differential geometry and apply mathematical analysis to solve some tasks related to finding tangents and normals to the line on the plane, as well as finding the distance from the point to the curve. The purpose of this article is to reveal the potentials of the discipline "Ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations" for generalization of students ' knowledge on the topic "Second-order curves" on the example of the concept "orthogonality of plane curves". The main argument is that it is possible to combine both geometrical and functional approaches within this discipline, and also to use tools of the mathematical analysis. The article provides recommendations in the framework of methods of this discipline teaching to achieve these purposes. Namely, a series of tasks on the topic "Orthogonal trajectories" is given, which allows us to return to the second-order curves once again, to systematize and expand the knowledge previously available to students. At the same time, the solution of these tasks makes it possible to work out the necessary skills within the discipline itself on the available material, which will easily illustrate the results obtained and show their consistency with the previously known facts from the school and University course of mathematics. One of the main approaches to the study of this problem is an integrative approach, which helps to ensure the integrity and continuity of the educational program content during the transition from school mathematics to higher mathematics. It also helps to establish strong interdisciplinary connections between different sections of higher mathematics. The article studies the potentials of the discipline "Ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations" to establish interdisciplinary connections within mathematical disciplines, such as geometry, analytical geometry, differential geometry and mathematical analysis on the example of the topic "Second-order curves". The practical significance of the article lies in the fact that it provides an indicative list of practical tasks with solutions that can be used in the process of teaching this discipline to achieve the above mentioned purposes.

The urgency of the investigated problem lies in the fact that the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education and the professional standard of a specialist in the field of journalism at the present stage of teaching prescribe mastery of theoretical and practical parts for university students. Meanwhile, the disciplines related to mastering the theoretical part are developed quite well, and the issues of organizing practice and independent work are solved by universities on an individual basis. Thus, universities geographically distant from megacities, when organizing educational practical work, face the problem of the lack of opportunities for students’ independent work due to the limited airtime allocated by regional media. Due to these circumstances, there is a need to work out practical recommendations for the organization of independent work of students whose area of training is 42.03.02 "Journalism". Thus, the purpose of the article is to analyze the organization of independent work of students in the areas of creative orientation. The study of the problem of organizing students’ independent work was carried out by analyzing the scientific literature in this field, as well as using the methods of interviewing and questioning students for the relevance of the independent work forms used by university teachers. As a result, it was revealed that the time restrictions determined by the curriculum do not allow students to develop sustainable professional skills in the creative areas of training. Students must gain the necessary knowledge and practical skills for professional activity themselves. Academic staff of universities successfully solves questions of theoretical education, but at the same time does not allow students to immerse themselves in the "full-length" process of journalist work because pedagogical theorists are not, as a rule, professional journalists, that is, they have no practical experience. Available practical and methodological manuals do not always meet the requirements of the rapidly developing creative profession as well. Hence, the main forms of independent work of students are determined, which will be aimed at the formation of professional competences of future journalists. Materials of the article may be interesting for the academic staff of universities, teachers of educational institutions, teachers of elective courses in journalism.

The relevance of the study is due to the need to introduce activity-type technologies in the educational practice of training specialists. Interactive learning technologies contribute to the formation of professional knowledge and skills through professional experience. Modern didactics substantiated the developing potential of practice-oriented educational technologies, which make it possible to organize the process of forming the necessary professional and universal competences most successfully, taking into account the specifics of the future profession. This allows to bridge the gap between the theorized knowledge of classical universities graduates and the necessary specific skills of specialists. The most successful practice-oriented technologies are imitating (gaming and non-gaming) learning technologies. The aim of the work is to study the developing potential of simulation technologies (using the foresight session as an example) in preparing teachers for activities in risk, determining the conditions for successful application of simulation technologies in the information educational environment of the university, and describing the methodology of using the foresight technology in the university's educational process. While conducting the study, the authors used such methods as comparative analysis and pedagogical modeling. As a result of the study, we made an analysis of domestic and foreign scientific literature on the organization of practice-oriented learning, the use of interactive simulation technologies in the educational process of the university, and a model for the implementation of a foresight session on preparing teachers to deal with risks. The proposed model of a foresight session on preparing teachers to deal with risks is being implemented on the basis of the Institute of Psychology and Education of Kazan Federal University (KFU) as a part of the information and educational project "Safe educational environment". The foresight session technology allows students to gain experience in dealing with risk situations in simulated and controlled university environment. The article may be interesting to academic staff of higher education organizations, lecturers and teachers of secondary and higher educational institutions.

Depopulation is one of the main contemporary challenges to the Russian state. Depopulation is a serious problem for many developed countries of the world. Even a high social model of consumption does not save from depopulation. Currently, many Western countries are trying in vain to resolve their own demographic crisis. However, this problem was not solved, but they actually caused an acute crisis of the political superstructures of the EU by their actions. They gave euro skeptics an opportunity to question the very existence of the EU. In our Fatherland, the severity of the demographic crisis generated by depopulation is aggravated by both geographical and historical circumstances. In the twentieth century, Russia lost tens of millions of its citizens during the First World War, the Civil War, the Great Patriotic War, the famine of the twenties and forties, and millions of its citizens left the country forever. Social and military shocks prevented the natural course of Russian demographic processes, distorted the age and sex pyramids of the country's population, thus giving rise to numerous and endless challenges to the demographic development of the USSR, which have not been eliminated until now. The death of the USSR led to the fact that thirty million Russian people remained outside of Russia. This has complicated the situation with new challenges that are to be solved by the Russian Federation now. All this creates a real threat to the security of our state. These are the challenges of underpopulation; challenges of structural demographic changes, low birth rates; high mortality challenges; internal migration challenges; immigration challenges, emigration challenges.
